Naaib Rashaadh Scholarships : Honoring a Visionary Educator


The "Naaib Rashaadh Scholarships" are a testament to the Chairman's father, late Mohammed Rashaadh of Gdh. Thinadhoo, Huvadhoo Atoll, Maldives. He was a dedicated educator and community leader. These scholarships, awarded every January intake of Avid College, pay tribute to his legacy and his commitment to education and community development.

Mohammed Rashaadh's vision for education and community service is at the heart of these scholarships. They are designed to empower aspiring scholars in the Maldives and encourage the values of education and skill development. By supporting students during their studies at Avid College, the "Naaib Rashaadh Scholarships" aim to inspire the next generation to continue Mohammed Rashaadh's work.

Terms and Conditions


  1. Total Scholarships:
    Avid College offers a total of 20 Naaib Rashaadh Scholarships for the upcoming academic term. Out of these, 10 scholarships are exclusively reserved for students from GDh. Thinadhoo.

    • Gdh. Thinadhoo - 10 Scholarships
    • Certificate I, II, III, IV and Diploma - Total 6 Scholarships
    • Bachelors Degree - 2 Scholarships
    • Masters Degree - 2 Scholarships

    • Rest of the Islands - 10 Scholarships
    • Certificate I, II, III, IV and Diploma - Total 7 Scholarships
    • Bachelors Degree - 2 Scholarships
    • Masters Degree - 1 Scholarships

  2. Eligibility:
    All the applicants for the above mentioned programs of January intake 2024 are eligible for scholarship. However, all applicants must ensure that the registration fee is paid for the confirmation of the placement. Applicants must meet the specified MQA entry criteria for the course they are applying for, candidates that do not meet the entry criteria for their intended course will not be considered.

    3. Students enrolled to the programs through Alternative Entry Criteria, must bear the fees of the prerequisite program. For an example: University preparation program or Pre- Masters preparation.

  3. Application Process:
    Candidates must submit a complete scholarship application form by 17ᵗʰ January 2024. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.

  4. Selection Process:
    If the applications for the target level exceeds more than 10 applicants, then scholarship candidates will be selected through a draw.

  5. Award Notification:
    Successful applicants will be notified via email or other designated communication channels. Awardees must acknowledge and confirm acceptance within the stipulated timeframe to secure the scholarship.

  6. Duration:
    The Naaib Rashaadh Scholarship covers the entire duration of the approved academic program.

  7. Non-Transferability:
    The scholarship is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged, sold, or transferred to another individual or institution.

  8. Changes and Termination:
    Avid College reserves the right to modify or terminate the scholarship program at any time, with or without prior notice, and for any other reason deemed necessary.

  9. Compliance:
    Recipients must comply with all Avid College policies, rules, and regulations during their tenure as scholarship awardees.

  10. Publicity:
    Awardees may be required to participate in publicity activities related to the scholarship program, which may include interviews, photographs, or other promotional materials.

By submitting an application for the Naaib Rashaadh Scholarship at Avid College, applicants agree to abide by these terms and conditions and any additional requirements specified by the college.
